Casino Offers $1 Million with Rooftop Ad

A new sign at Wrigley Field is putting a glimmer of green in they eyes of a lot of baseball fans.

The Horseshoe Casino of Hammond, Ind., has painted a rooftop ad on a house on Waveland Ave. that fans can see over the left field bleachers.

The casino's sign promises to give $1 million to a fan if a Chicago player -- a Cubbie or a White Sox -- hits the sign.

"Hit Me. 1 Fan. $1 Million," the sign reads.

But don't hold your breath, experts say.  At more than 500 feet, it's likely too far.

A home run did hit a rooftop 10 years ago, but a surveyor hired by the Chicago Sun-Times measured that shot to be just 451.2 feet.

Still, the casino says the promotion is legit, and hopefuls will have one week to register for the drawing if someone does make the play.

Advertising is not new to the home on Waveland.  It's the same building that for many years carried advertisements from Anheuser-Busch.
