Sportsbook Refunds Mitchell Trubisky MVP Wagers

Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was a popular longshot bet to win the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award this season, but after his rough first half of the year, one sportsbook is giving their bettors a mulligan.

In a social media post, PointsBet Sportsbook announced that they would refund every bettor that had placed a wager on Trubisky winning the MVP award this season:

Trubisky opened the season at 100-to-1 odds of winning the prize, but if fans were to bet on him now at the sportsbook, they would win a staggering $50,000 on a $100 bet if he were to somehow rebound and win the prize.

Only Marcus Mariota and Andy Dalton, both of whom have been benched by their respective teams, have equivalent odds of winning the MVP.

PointsBet said that Trubisky was the site’s largest liability going into the season, but now have refunded all bets made on him to collect the NFL’s top individual prize.
