Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has won a World Series title, twerked on Saturday Night Live, and even had his own cereal named after him, but he knocked another item off his celebrity checklist on Thursday.
Actress Elisabeth Moss, the star of the Hulu show “The Handmaid’s Tale,” received an Emmy nomination for her role on the program. The show ended up racking up a staggering 13 Emmy Nominations, but instead of hearing about the news from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, she found out with the help of Rizzo.
Or, rather, a shirtless GIF of Rizzo:
Moss, a diehard Cubs fan, received an email from her publicist that contained a shirtless GIF of the Cubs first baseman, and she immediately knew that the news she was going to get was good.
“I woke up to a GIF from my publicist Erica, of a shirtless Anthony Rizzo from the Cubs and knew it was good news (because a shirtless Rizzo is always good news), but 13 is blowing my mind!” she told TV Guide.
There’s no telling if Rizzo will receive an invite to the Emmy’s, after he walked the red carpet at the Grammy’s this year, but apparently his star is on the rise, and TV offers are sure to follow for the slugging star.
