No. 3 Notre Dame Remains Unbeaten, Takes Down Florida State

Brandon Wimbush threw for three touchdowns in the victory

Brandon Wimbush threw for three touchdowns, and Dexter Williams rushed for 202 yards and two touchdowns as the Notre Dame Fighting Irish thrashed the Florida State Seminoles 42-13.

The Irish racked up 365 rushing yards in the game, including 68 from Wimbush as he filled in for injured starting quarterback Ian Book.

Chris Finke led the Irish with four catches for 59 yards, and Alize Mack caught three passes for 29 yards and two touchdowns as Notre Dame moved their record to 10-0 for the second time in head coach Brian Kelly's tenure in South Bend.

Florida State got 216 passing yards from quarterback Deondre Francois, and Cam Akers rushed for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

The Irish got off to a flying start, scoring 17 first quarter points and setting a strong early tone. Miles Boykin hauled in a touchdown catch just a minute and 15 seconds in, and Mack caught the first of his two touchdown receptions with about seven minutes to go in the first quarter.

The Seminoles got on the board early in the second quarter to make it 17-6, but a blocked extra point was returned 75 yards to the end zone by Julian Love to give the irish two more points.

From there, Notre Dame mostly cruised, getting a late rushing touchdown from Williams to seal the victory.

The Irish will head to Yankee Stadium next week for a showdown with a high-flying Syracuse squad.
