Notre Dame Set to Take on Alabama in Home-and-Home Series

Two of college football’s most storied programs are set to face-off, but fans will have to be patient as they wait for the showdown.

The University of Alabama and the University of Notre Dame announced Thursday that the football powerhouses will play against each other on Sept. 2, 2028 in South Bend, and then will take the field on Sept. 1, 2029 in Tuscaloosa in a home-and-home series.

The teams last played in the 2013 National Championship Game, as Alabama routed the Fighting Irish by a score of 42-14.

Overall, Notre Dame has a 5-2 record against Alabama in games between the schools. Their last regular season meeting took place in 1987, as the Fighting Irish romped to a 37-6 win in South Bend.
