Nikola Mirotic Agrees to New Contract With Bulls: Reports

The Chicago Bulls are going to look dramatically different on the court next year, but one of their most important players will be back with the team after reportedly agreeing to a new contract.

That player was restricted free agent Nikola Mirotic, who has agreed to a new two-year deal with the team, according to The Vertical’s Shams Charania. Mirotic will be paid $27 million over the two years of the deal, according to the report.

The deal also comes with a no-trade clause in the first year of the contract.

Mirotic had until Oct. 1 to agree to a deal, as the Bulls had placed a one-year qualifying offer on him for $7.2 million earlier this summer.

Mirotic averaged 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his first three seasons with the Bulls. He had a solid season in the 2016-17 campaign for Chicago, averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while playing 24 minutes per contest.

He appeared in 70 games for the Bulls in the last campaign, starting 15 of them.
