Minnesota Wild to Use Prince Tune as New Goal Song

The Wild are going to use the Prince tune “Let’s Go Crazy” as their new goal song this season

When world-famous musician Prince passed away earlier this year, the city of Minneapolis lost one of its greatest homegrown talents, but now the Minnesota Wild are prepared to honor his memory at home games this season.

That’s because the Wild are going to use the Prince tune “Let’s Go Crazy” as their new goal song this season. The song was chosen during a survey of the team’s season ticket-holders, and the organization made the decision official on Tuesday.

“Our in-arena experience is designed for the fans, so it’s great to be able to show them we take their feedback to heart,” said John Maher, VP of brand, content, and communications for the Wild. “At the same time, it’s our privilege to celebrate an iconic hometown artists that clearly has had an incredible impact on our community and the world.”

The Wild will also host a tribute to Prince at their booth for the Minnesota State Fair later this week, according to a press release by the team.

During the 2016 playoffs, the Wild used rally towels on the backs of seats to construct a tribute to the legendary musician:

Previous to “Let’s Go Crazy,” the Wild used the tune “Crowd Chant” Joe Satriani as their goal song.
