Chicago Cubs Pitcher Jon Lester Replaced on N.L. All-Star Roster

Lester has an 11-2 record and 2.45 ERA this season

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jon Lester will not pitch in the MLB All-Star Game Tuesday, and has been replaced on the National League roster for the contest.

Lester, who made his fifth All-Star team on the strength of his 11-2 record and 2.45 ERA this season, is pitching on Sunday against the San Diego Padres, and was therefore replaced on the National League roster.

According to multiple reports, Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Zack Greinke told teammates that he is the hurler who will be replacing Lester on the team.

Cubs infielder Javier Baez and catcher Willson Contreras are still set to start for the National League when they battle the American League on Tuesday in Washington D.C. Baez will also be joined by teammate Kyle Schwarber in the Home Run Derby on Monday night.
