White Sox Play-by-Play Announcer Jason Benetti Releases PSA

The PSA was released by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation

Chicago White Sox play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti has filmed a new PSA that is designed to help turn awkward moments into teachable moments.

Benetti, who has cerebral palsy, is the star of the ad titled “Awkward Moments With Jason Benetti,” which was released by the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

In the first episode, titled “The Disability Blurt-Out,” Benetti is approached by a young boy who asks “what is wrong with that man?” Benetti then encourages parents to allow their kids to ask those kinds of questions in an effort to learn more about those that deal with disabilities:

“It’s fine. I have CP. It’s part of who I am,” Benetti says in the ad. “I love the disability blurt out, because if kids don’t ask, then they don’t get a good answer.”

The Cerebral Palsy Foundation is dedicated to transforming lives for people with cerebral palsy today through research, innovation, and collaboration, according to the group’s website.
