David Ross a Contender for Vacant Minnesota Twins Managerial Job: Report

Ross has spent the last two seasons as an analyst for ESPN

Former Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross spent his 2018 season in the broadcast booth and the analyst’s chair for ESPN, but it appears he may have a chance to get back into the sport in a different role.

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, the Twins are interested in interviewing Ross for their open managerial job. The Twins, who fired Paul Molitor after the season ended, are also interested in former Cubs second baseman Mark DeRosa, according to the report, but haven’t scheduled interviews with either candidate.

Ross won the 2016 World Series with the Cubs and has enjoyed a surge in popularity since his retirement, appearing on “Dancing With the Stars” and serving as an analyst and commentator for ESPN’s baseball coverage.

Ross also has worked with the Cubs as a special assistant to the baseball operations department with the team since he retired.
