Bulls to Unveil Bronze Bust of Pippen

Bust will ultimately be displayed at the United Center

The Chicago Bulls plan to unveil a bronze bust of former star forward Scottie Pippen during halftime of a game against the Boston Celtics next month.

The team said Thursday that a ceremony to honor the Hall of Famer and Bulls ambassador would include a video tribute and Pippen speech on April 7. The Bulls will permanently display the bust at the United Center.

Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf says Pippen "had a tremendous impact" in bringing six world championships to Chicago during the 1990s alongside Michael Jordan. Pippen called the statue an "amazing honor."

The bust was made by the same artists who crafted the Michael Jordan statue that is outside the United Center.
