Blackhawks to Open 2017-18 Season vs. Penguins at United Center

The Chicago Blackhawks will open their 2017-18 season against the defending Stanley Cup champions, as the Pittsburgh Penguins will come to town to kick off the NHL campaign.

The Penguins and Blackhawks have combined to win the last three Stanley Cup championships and four of the last five. The two teams will duke it out on Thurs., Oct. 5, with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the United Center.

The NHL announced that their entire schedule will be announced on Thursday at 12 p.m. Central time as part of the league’s celebration of the NHL Entry Draft. The draft, which is being held in Chicago, will kick off on Friday night and will continue through Saturday.

Before that, the league will hold its expansion draft selection show special on Wednesday night, along with the NHL Awards in Las Vegas.
