Wild Card Tickets Remain Pricey for Cubs vs. Pirates

If you’re on your way to Pittsburgh for the Chicago Cubs’ wild card contest against the Pirates, you’re going to be shelling out big bucks if you don’t already have a ticket

If you’re on your way to Pittsburgh for the Chicago Cubs’ wild card contest against the Pirates, you’re going to be shelling out big bucks if you don’t already have a ticket.

All week long, ticket prices have been the highest that they’ve ever been for an MLB wild card game, according to data from Vivid Seats and Seat Geek.

On Wednesday, the cheapest tickets available on Vivid Seats are running at $121 (although if you want an actual seat, you’ll have to shell out $134), and on StubHub, you can get in the door for $137 (actual seats start at $140, and if you want more than one, be prepared to pay more).

If the Cubs advance past the wild card round, things aren’t going to get any cheaper for fans. According to data from Vivid Seats, the overall median price for Cubs’ home games in the postseason is an astronomical $525, which is far and away the highest price in baseball.

There is a bit of good news in their report, however: if you want to get into Game 1 or 2 of the NLDS in St. Louis, you can pay between $70-90 per ticket.
