White Sox Honor JRW at U.S. Cellular Field

Each player received an autographed White Sox jersey with their number and a backpack stuffed with school supplies

The celebration for the Jackie Robinson West All-Stars in Chicago continued this weekend as the little leaguers stepped out onto U.S. Cellular Field with the Chicago White Sox.

The team stood alongside the White Sox for a special pregame celebration honoring their success in the Little League World Series.

"It just takes your breath away," said Annie Haley, President of Jackie Robinson West. "Heavenly."

All eyes were on the young players as they took a lap around the bases, slapping hands with the professionals.

"I'm real happy," said player Trey Hondras. "It's real exciting."

Each player received an autographed White Sox jersey with their number and a backpack stuffed with school supplies and a copy of "Opening Day: The Story of Jackie Robinson's First Season.".

"I think it's important for the kids to realize how happy everybody is for them," said White Sox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf.

Chicago White Sox Charities also presented the team with a $20,000 donation. Sox officials also announced that the team's Little League World Series U.S. Championship will be commemorated with a special plaque at U.S. Cellular Field to be unveiled during the 2015 season.

Earlier Saturday, JRW got the royal treatment at a breakfast of champions hosted by the Rainbow PUSH Coalition alongside their former opponent and fellow little league star Mo'ne Davis from Philadelphia.

"Thanks for inviting me to celebrate with the team," she said. "Just thank you."

The team is also expected to be honored by the Chicago Cubs on Monday and will visit Disney World next weekend.
