Want to Go to Monday's Cubs Game at Wrigley Field? It Will Cost You

St. Louis Cardinals have home field advantage, so they get to host Games 1 and 2 at Busch Stadium Friday and Saturday, but tickets for Game 3 at Wrigley will set you back

The Chicago Cubs are coming off their first playoff win in 12 years and tickets for the team’s first home game at Wrigley Field Monday are going fast.

St. Louis Cardinals have home field advantage, so they get to host Games 1 and 2 at Busch Stadium Friday and Saturday, but tickets for Game 3 at Wrigley will set you back $280 for standing-room-only seats.

By Thursday morning, the highest priced seat was going for a staggering $20,000 on StubHub.

Everyone wants a good deal, but more importantly, you want to make sure your tickets are real, something the team reminded season ticket holders who secured playoff tickets earlier in the season.

“We’ve noticed an increasing amount of postseason ticket images being shared on social media and other online channels,” the message read. “To help prevent the unintended or fraudulent resale of your postseason tickets, fans are advised to refrain from sharing images that reveal a ticket’s unique barcode letters and numbers.”

Stubhub is the official ticket marketplace of Major League Baseball, and the company gives fans a guarantee that tickets purchased on the online ticketing giant will be authentic. But the same can’t always be said for sites like Craigslist and other ticket vendors.

The Cubs don’t have any additional tickets available for this round versus the Cardinals, however, if the team advances to the National League Championship Series, fans were allowed to sign up for a random drawing for seats before 12 p.m. Thursday.

World Series registration period for ticket drawings will remain open on their website until 12 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16.

If you want cheaper tickets than the $280 dollar seats we mentioned, you can find them, but you’ll have to drive to St. Louis.
