Shaw to Miss Circus Trip Opener with Upper Body Injury

Despite practicing with the team on Wednesday, Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw missed the team's Thursday morning skate ahead of their game against the Calgary Flames and will be out of the lineup for the game, according to head coach Joel Quenneville.

Despite the sudden news that Shaw will be out with an upper body injury, Quenneville said that the issue isn't a serious one and it won't keep Shaw out for any length of time.

After being scratched on Sunday, Jeremy Morin will jump back into the lineup on Thursday night in Shaw's place, and he will skate on the third line with Ben Smith and Bryan Bickell.

The Blackhawks will also have a player making his NHL debut on Thursday night, as defenseman Adam Clendening will make his way into the lineup.

He will be playing the point position on the second-unit power play as well, and his puck-moving skills and ability to gain zone entry across the blue line will come in handy as the Hawks' offense attempts to get some more consistency in their game.
