Report: Cubs Raise Season Ticket Prices About 10 Percent

After an incredible 2015 season, Chicago Cubs fans will have to pay up to have a seat at Wrigley Field next year, according to a new report.

Season tickets for 2016 cost an average of 10 percent more than they did in 2015, according to Danny Ecker of Crain's Chicago Business.

The cheapest season tickets will cost about $1,650 for the upper deck reserved outfield section, Ecker reports. This means last year's season ticket holders will pay about $20 more for the same seats this year.

Fans who will pay the biggest price increase are those with seats in the terrace reserved outfield sections near the left- and right-field lines, according to Ecker. These people will pay a whopping 38 percent more this year than last year.

Cubs ticket prices also surged during the National League Division Series as well as the Championship Series as the team inched closer to the World Series. If they had advanced, the World Series may have been the most expensive series ever, with some ticket-selling websites estimating costs to be in the $2,000 to $3,000 range and above.
