The buses carrying the Washington Redskins to today’s game against Minnesota were involved in a collision near Minneapolis.
News4’s Dianna Russini said the police escort missed the exit ramp to the TCF Bank Stadium at the University of Minnesota – where the Vikings are playing their home games this season -- and attempted to swerve back into the exit lane.
According to Minnesota State Police spokesman Eric Roeske, the squad car crashed into a guardrail and came to rest on a ramp in front of the buses.
Russini said the first bus carrying players and coaches stopped and was hit from behind by the second team bus. She said there are bumps and bruises on the team buses, but everyone appears to be okay and shaken by the accident.
Roeske said the officer in the car suffered only minor injuries, but no one was transported to the hospital.
Russini reported at 11:45 a.m. that running back Silas Redd would not be playing because of the accident. She said he has back spasms from the accident.
Wide receiver Pierre Garcon tweeted out a picture from inside one of the buses involved in the collision.

Russini said the players have started warm-ups at the stadium and are getting prepared for the 1 p.m. Eastern game against the Vikings.
