Thursday night may have been a dream for new Chicago Bulls forward Bobby Portis as he was selected with the 22nd overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft, but as he’s finding out the hard way, fame and notoriety come with a price.
Back in 2011, Portis sent out a couple of tweets from his Twitter account bashing Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol, both of whom will be teammates of his with the Bulls next season.
Here is a screengrab of his tweet about Rose:
Ppl making a big deal out of the Bobby Portis 'f D Rose/Bulls' tweet from 2011 are funny (stupid). Dude was what, 16? pic.twitter.com/GvHzZzhkfo — TrueNE_79 (@TrueNE_79) June 26, 2015
On Friday, Portis tweeted out an apology for his remarks:
Bulls Nation sorry for the tweets I sent 4 years ago. I was a boy then. I'm a man now. And a Bull. DRose, Pau, what kinda donuts yall like? — Bobby BP Portis (@BPortistime) June 26, 2015

If there’s a lesson to be learned from this situation, it’s that things written on the internet aren’t written in pencil with the capability of being easily erased.
