Relish This: Missing Racing Sausage Returned

"Guido" the Italian Racing Sausage disappeared after Wisconsin winter festival

The day's "wurst" story apparently has a happy ending.

One of the racing sausages seen during Milwaukee Brewers home games was reportedly returned to bar from which it was swiped more than a week ago.

"Guido," the Italian sausage was dropped off at TJ Ryan's bar in Cedarburg, in southeastern Wisconsin, on Wednesday evening, NBC affiliate WTMJ reported.

The $3,000 sausage costume, owned by Milwaukee-based Klement's Sausage Company, disappeared Feb. 16 after a night of fundraising, beer-tasting and curling during Cedarburg's annual Winter Festival.

According to a published report, the 7-foot-tall sausage costume was lying unused in a backroom at the Milwaukee Curling Club's new Cedarburg location. Someone donned the outfit and was later seen socializing with patrons at a pair of area pubs.

"It's a felony," Cedarburg police Detective Jeffrey Vahsholtz said of the theft, according to WISN-TV, the ABC affiliate in Milwaukee.

When the story gained media attention, Pleasant Prairie-based Mustard Girl All American Mustard offered a year’s supply of mustard to anyone who returns the Italian Sausage costume.
