Midday Stampede: Joakim Noah Doubtful For Game 6

Joakim Noah is still a game-time decision, but Taj Gibson will play against Philadelphia tonight.

UPDATE: Noah suited up and warmed up, but didn't play

The biggest question for the Bulls in tonight's Game 6 against Philadelphia is whether Joakim Noah will suit up and see any action. So far, it looks doubtful.

After spraining his ankle in Game 3, Noah wore street clothes and a walking boot in Game 4. By Game 5, he shed the boot in favor of his own shoes.

Noah has undergone aggressive rehab to try and return as soon as possible, but it's still unclear if he'll be ready tonight. If not, Omer Asik will get the start again at the center position.

With Noah out, it's absolutely critical Chicago wins to force a Game 7 at the United Center on Saturday. That all but increases the likelihood Noah would be able to play.

Of course it won't be easy trying to keep the season going, especially winning in Philly, but a victory would put an enormous amount of pressure on the shoulders of the young Sixers squad.

That plays perfectly into the Bulls' hands.

The good news is that Taj Gibson will play tonight after spraining his ankle Tuesday.

As Gibson told the Chicago Sun-Times, “The doctor said I can’t do any harm to do it. It’s about how much pain I can take. I’m going to go out there and lay it on the line.”
