McNabb Hasn't Heard From Bears

After Caleb Hanie's second disappointing performance and an injury to Matt Forte, the Bears are in need of offensive help. Though it appears that the newly-unemployed quarterback Donovan McNabb could be a good fit, NBC Chicago learned from an NFL source that the Bears have not contacted McNabb.

After a storied career, McNabb did not perform well for the Vikings. He was released from the team and cleared waivers on Friday. The Vikings are on the hook for the remainder of his base salary, roughly $1.17 million.

With a payday ensured, the question is will he want to play for the Bears? An NFL source reports that other teams are interested, ones with a tighter grip on a playoff spot. Though nostalgia may tug at the Chicago native to play for his hometown team, the lack of a strong running game and a team on a two-game losing skid may scare him away.
