Gasol, Rose Out for Remainder of Season for Bulls

With the Chicago Bulls already eliminated from playoff contention, Derrick Rose and Pau Gasol have both been ruled out for the final two games of the regular season

The Chicago Bulls are officially eliminated from the NBA playoffs, and with their last two games rendered meaningless, the team is sitting some of its biggest players.

The big name on the list is point guard Derrick Rose, who told reporters on Monday morning that he will sit out the team’s last two games of the season. Rose has missed 14 games this season due to a variety of injuries, and with the regular season coming to an end, he’ll opt to get an early start on his recovery and preparation for next season.

The Bulls will also be without Pau Gasol for their final two games, which will take place against the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76’ers. According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, Gasol needs an MRI on his right knee, and with the odds strong that he’s going to opt out of his deal with the Bulls, it’s quite possible that he’s played his final game as a member of the team.

Taj Gibson and E’Tuan Moore will also miss the final two games of the season for the Bulls, who will miss the postseason for the first time in seven seasons.
