Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant Engage in Twitter Beef

The Chicago native and OKC star had a war of words over a Sports Illustrated Top 10 list

The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade and Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant engaged in some subtle ribbing on Twitter on Tuesday.

Wade, a Chicago native, seemed to take exception to a comment made by Durant in response to a list Sports Illustrated compiled of the Top 10 players to watch in the NBA this season.

SI listed D. Wade at No. 8, but Durant suggested that he didn’t deserve a place in the Top 10 in an interview with CineSport.

"I think you’re missing James Harden," Durant responded to being asked who he felt was left off the list. And when asked whom Harden should replace, Durant said, "Wade."

Dwyane Wade then took to Instagram and Twitter and sent this message: "Don’t believe me just watch," followed by the picture of a handwritten note that read, "9-24-13, Kevin Durant said James Harden should replace me in the Top 10… Note to self* Make him respect your place in history… Again," referencing the Heat's NBA Finals victory over the Thunder two years ago.

A short time later, Durant sent a response tweet which said, "Show me don’t tweet me…"

The 2013-14 season is one of the most anticipated in recent memory for very good reason, it seems.
