In April, the NBA announced that Derrick Rose was the league's most popular athlete based on jersey sales. Today, the league announced just how popular D. Rose is worldwide.
In its first ever overall international top jerseys list, Derrick Rose ranked second overall behind Kobe Bryant and one spot ahead of LeBron James. The NBA also released their top selling jerseys in China, Europe and Latin America and Derrick once again checked in second behind Kobe and ahead of LeBron with the exception of Latin America where Rose ranked third behind Kobe and LeBron.
Rose has seen his popularity increase significantly since being drafted No. 1 overall in 2008. In his first four seasons in the NBA, Derrick has led the Bulls to playoffs in each season and over the last two years he's helped the Bulls finish with the best overall record in the league and in 2011, he was named MVP.
Rose is currently undergoing rehab for a torn ACL. He's expected to miss anywhere from 8-12 months but has been reported to be ahead of schedule.
