Englewood Stars in New D-Rose Commercial

New shoe commercial debuts Monday

Derrick Rose is all about giving back to his neighborhood, so it's no surprise to see Englewood featured prominently in his latest shoe commercial.

The new spot for his adiZero Crazy Light shoe premieres Monday night during the Dallas Mavericks/Oklahoma City Thunder game and will also be shown during Tuesday night's Bulls game versus the Heat.

The commercial is all about the 9.8 ounce weight of the shoe and uses a number of Chicago backdrops, including the It's Yours barbershop on 63rd Street in West Englewood featuring a neon "9.8" sign, shots of Rose strolling past Murray Playground where he honed his game as a youngster, and plenty of shots of the eL train.

The number refers to 9.8 ounces, the weight of the shoe that Rose debuted during the first round of the NBA playoffs versus the Indiana Pacers. It will be available in stores June 3.

The Bulls trail the Heat 2-1 in the best of seven Eastern Conference championship series.
