Cubs Home Games in Milwaukee? Not Gonna Happen

Team officials admit moving games out of state during renovations was considered

Cubs fans don't have to worry about heading west on I-94 to get to a home game.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that as recently as last year, team officials made serious inquiries about the possibility of moving home games in April and May of 2014 and 2015 to Miller Park in Milwaukee during renovations to Wrigley Field.

But that option is now off the table, a team official told the newspaper.

The team spokesman said the revenue loss the city would incur from moving games was partially why the idea didn't proceed.

Another option -- playing at U.S. Cellular Field -- is also believed to not be in consideration.

Officials are expected to unveil plans for the renovation at the Cubs Convention this weekend, but all depends on whether the team can reach a deal for financial subsidies from lawmakers.
