Cubs Claim Pitcher Kameron Loe, Clevenger on DL

The Chicago Cubs claimed right-handed pitcher Kameron Loe off waivers from the Seattle Mariners after catcher Steve Clevenger was placed on the disabled list, the team announced Sunday.

Loe, 31, has thrown for Texas, Milwaukee and Seattle before coming to the Cubs.

The team made room for the new pitcher by placing Clevenger on the 60-day disabled list after he injured his oblique swinging at the final pitch of Saturday's game. The team lost to the Giants 3-2.

The team has faced rough pitching times after Carlos Marmol was removed from his position as Cubs closer, and his replacement, Kyuji Fujikawa, was placed on a 15-day disabled list after a muscular strain of his right forearm.
