Crawford Practices with Hawks, But Return Not Imminent

Goaltender has missed the team's last four games

The Chicago Blackhawks got some unwelcome news last week when it was revealed that goaltender Corey Crawford would be missing two to three weeks of action after sustaining an injury at a concert, but they did get good news on Wednesday as he was able to skate with the team for the first time since the incident occurred.

Joining the team for their morning skate in Boston, Crawford did take some shots during the practice, but head coach Joel Quenneville says that it's a "long shot" when asked if this meant that Crawford would return over the upcoming weekend.

That would mean that the earliest Crawford would return is Tuesday when the Hawks take on the Minnesota Wild at the United Center. The team has three more games before then, with a back-to-back set against the New York Islanders and Calgary Flames on Saturday and Sunday.

Meanwhile, Crawford's crease will still be manned by Scott Darling on Thursday, as Quenneville announced the goaltender will make his third consecutive start. Darling has been solid for the Blackhawks over the last two games, allowing just three goals in wins over the Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils.
