Briggs Ruled Out for Thursday vs. Lions

Briggs injured his groin last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Chicago Bears will be taking on the Detroit Lions on Thursday, but they are hardly feeling thankful after it was announced that linebacker Lance Briggs will not play in the Thanksgiving game.

Briggs, who injured his groin last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, already has missed time this season with injury, and missed nearly half of last season with a fractured shoulder. Khaseem Greene will likey suit up in his place at weak side linebacker.

The Bears will also be missing Brian de la Puente, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, and Darryl Sharpton and Chris Williams will also be out of action. Defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff could also be out of the lineup, as he was listed as doubtful on the injury report along with defensive end Trevor Scott.

The team did get a bit of good news on Wednesday as Kyle Fuller was listed as questionable on the injury report. If he is able to go, it will give a boost to a secondary that will be going up against one of the league's best receiving tandems in Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate.
