Blackhawks Win Game 1

Winger Tomas Kopecky slapped in a score on a sweet feed from Kris Versteeg to give the Hawks a 6-5 lead midway through the third period -- and they took that lead to the end of the game.

Kopecky was the only lineup change for either team, and it ended up being a fortuitous one for the 'Hawks.

At the horn sound, the 'Hawks scoring theme song, Chelsea Dagger, played and the 'Hawks embraced. The capacity crowd -- the 100th consecutive sellout for the 'Hawks at home -- roared.

The game was back and forth for the first two periods, with both teams scoring at a furios rate and neither holding a lead longer than seven minutes.

At their lowest point in the second period, the 'Hawks were down two scores, but Kris Versteeg and Troy Brouwer scored back-to-back goals. After the Brouwer scorere, the Flyers pulled former 'Hawks player Michael Leighton and replaced him with Brian Boucher .
