Blackhawks Fans in a Frenzy

Chicago Blackhawks fans' love for their team runs deep -- perhaps even as deep as a woman's love for her husband.

Jeanne and Randy Patinka are putting their love on ice during the Stanley Cup Finals. He's a Philadelphia Flyers fan, while she bleeds Blackhawks red.

They say they can still sleep in the same bed, at least until the final game is played.

"Until it's over; that's when we'll have issues," Randy Patinka said.

Saturday night, fans outside the United Center were geared up in jerseys, feathered headdresses, full-on hockey helmets and pads -- and one hopeful lad even came dressed as the Stanely Cup itself.

"It better help them win, it's like 10 pounds in here," 10-year-old Tom O'Leary said.

The action isn't limited to the United Center. A walk past almost any bar in the city revealed every TV set tuned to the game Saturday night, with cheering fans packed in to watch their team win. Even the famous lions outside the Art Institute have Blackhawks helmets on.

And with the Hawks' 6-5 victory Sunday night, Chicago fans are just getting warmed up. Game 2 is Monday at 7 p.m. on NBC, and the frenzy is sure to continue.
