Ben Zobrist Gets World Series Ring, Sends Message to Teammates

The Chicago Cubs have made it a point to bring in players with World Series experience over the last few years, with Jon Lester, David Ross and John Lackey all members of that exclusive club, but another player is looking to use his ring to motivate his teammates.

That player is Ben Zobrist, who was a member of the 2015 Kansas City Royals squad that won the World Series over the New York Mets. On Tuesday, Zobrist received his ring from the organization, and he used the opportunity to send his teammates a message:

The Royals’ rings (of which the team purchased 700 and paid all taxes on) feature nearly 10 carats of gemstones and two types of gold, and Zobrist’s video shows off all the cool features of the ring. Their series triumphs are engraved in the center, and each player’s ring is personalized with their own name and number as well.

Needless to say, if the Cubs win the World Series in 2016, Tom Ricketts and company are going to have a big hill to climb to beat these bad boys.
