BMW Championship Proceeds To Benefit Evans Scholars Foundation

Scholarship supports financial aid for student caddies

All proceeds collected from the 2013 BMW Championship will go toward the Evans Scholars Foundation, which financially supports an all-inclusive college ride for golf caddies.

The Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship provides housing and full tuition for beneficiaries renewable up to four years at 14 Evans Scholars Foundation operations across the nation. Northwestern University and the University of Illinois are included on the list.

Applicants are evaluated on academic records, financial need, leadership and overall character as well as caddie record. The student caddies must be nominated by their sponsoring country club to qualify.

Each year more than 200 high school students receive the scholarship and there are 830 college students currently enrolled in universities with the scholarship.

Charles “Chick” Evans Jr. started as a caddie at an early age. He became an amateur golfer and founder of the scholarship.
