Auction House Offers Jordan's $33 Million Bulls Contract

A Dallas-based auction house is offering for sale one of the most significant contracts in NBA history.

Heritage Auctions is selling Michael Jordan's $33 million contract with the Chicago Bulls for the 1997-1998 season.

At the time, the contract made Jordan the highest-paid player in basketball history, and it still stands as the highest single-season NBA salary ever.

Jordan earned that money, leading the Bulls to their sixth and final NBA championship during his tenure that season.

As of this writing, the contract itself was fetching a pretty penny, listed at $37,500, but it will probably go much higher. Internet bidding ends on July 30, with an actual live auction scheduled for the next day.

The 26-page contract includes signatures from Jordan and then-Bulls general manager Jerry Krause.
