GOP Presidential Hopeful Perry Attends Lincoln Park Fundraiser

Donors were asked to cough up $2,500 a person to spend some time with the Texas governor

Republican presidential hopeful Rick Perry on Wednesday evening attended a private fundraising reception in a Lincoln Park couple's home.

Donors were asked to cough up $2,500 a person to spend some time with the Texas governor who, along with the other GOP contenders, apparently don't have the level of name recognition at this point in the campaign as they have in year's past.

Poll results released last week by the Pew Research Center for People & the Press put Perry at the top of the list of the percentage of Americans who could name him as a candidate, but the 28 percent of respondents able to do so is far behind the same poll conducted four years ago.

Perry will attend a fundraiser hosted by Otto Engineering chairman and founder Jack Roeser in Carpentersville on Thursday morning.  The breakfast is $1,000 per person or $2,500 for anyone who also wants a photo with the candidate.
