Debt Talks May Keep Pelosi Out of Chicago Fundraiser

Continued discussions in Washington about the nation's debt ceiling may keep House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi out of a Chicago fundraiser.

Her attendance at the event depends on the president's Friday schedule, Pelosi's political director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee told the Chicago Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet.

President Barack Obama may ask Pelosi to remain in Washington to continue negotiations.

"Her priority is, of course, the debt talks," said Jennifer Crider.

Tickets for the fundraiser, to be held at Smith & Wollensky Steakhouse, at 318 N. State St., range from $2,500 per person to $30,000 per couple.
