Berrios' Hirings, Firings May Violate Court Order

Cook County Assessor Joe Berrios is in more hot water over who he's hiring and firing.

Since his swearing-in last month, Berrios is accused of 27 hirings and firings that may violate a federal court order barring patronage jobs.

Berrios maintains that all 27 jobs are on an official "exempt" list in court records.

Recently put on the payroll were Berrios' son and his sister. An attorney looking into the matter says that none of their titles is on that exempt list.
