The Illinois State Democratic Central Commitee will not pick a Lieutenant Governor candidate during a meeting as planned next week, according to a spokesperson.
What that means for the Democratic ticket this election is anybody's guess.
The online selection process is apparently continuing for now -- "it's evolving," said Steve Brown, the spokesman for Speaker Mike Madigan -- but candidates will no longer appear before the committee on Monday.
There won't be a selection on Tuesday, either.
Asked whether and when the Lt. Gov. will be selected, Brown only replied: "We'll let you know."
