RUNNING FOR
COOK COUNTY ASSESSOR
SHARON
STROBECK-ECKERSALL
 (R)

OPPONENTS
FORREST CLAYPOOL (I)
JOSEPH BERRIOS (D)

The Woman: An Evanston native, Sharon Strobeck-Eckersall is the Republican Candidate running for Cook County Assessor. She has served as Evanston Township Assessor for 11 years, and has experience in banking and as a real estate broker and appraiser.

Strobeck-Eckersall's priorities are to improve technology and tax payer assistance. To promote integrity of her office, she has pledged to prohibit government staff from contributing to her campaign, and she's pledged not to hire family or friends.

The Knock: Strobeck=Eckersall lacks the funding to compete with Forrest Claypool and Joseph Berrios. It's quite possible that she did not anticipate the media attention this race would receive.

The Strategy: Strobeck-Eckersall has managed to gain the support of Cook County Board President hopeful Roger Keats. Only problem is that Berrios also signed Claypool's petition to run as an Independent. With November 2 just around the corner, Strobeck-Eckersall will need to do some creative campaigning to gain some ground in the political sphere and find some way to stand out in the the democrat and former democrat dog fight.
