Sanders Allies Plan Meeting to Discuss Future of Movement

Sanders' loss in the New York primary has many wondering what will happen to his supporters if he does not win the Democratic nomination

Bernie Sanders allies are planning to meet in Chicago to plot the future of the movement started by Sanders’ presidential campaign, NBC News reports.

The two-day People’s Summit will take place in mid-June between the last set of primaries and the Democratic National Convention in late July. It aims to continue building the “political revolution” Sanders invokes.

The event’s partners include key players of the Sanders movement. While the focus will remain on the campaign, the groups wanted to create a plan to come together, regardless of whether Sanders secures the Democratic nominee.

Sanders’ loss in New York’s primary has put the Democratic nomination almost out of reach, leading many to wonder what will become of the millions of people who supported his campaign, including those who seem unready to settle for Hillary Clinton as the nominee.
