Chicago Police Lieutenant John Garrido is a Republican candidate for Cook County Board President.  The 42-year-old has served as an officer in the homicide, narcotics and tactical division departments for 18 years in addition to being a practicing attorney since 2006.

Garrido is an advocates a "fresh start for Cook County," hoping to achieve transparency and openness in government.  His campaign rejects government corruption, patronage hiring, unnecessary job cuts and regressive sales taxes.

He is a 2001 graduate of Lewis University and a received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 2006.
