Illinois Races: Jim Ascot Is Running for 7th District Rep.

Jim Ascot is one of 10 democrats looking to replace Danny K. Davis if the current congressman actually vacates his seat. Ascot runs his own realty group and is lisenced to sell in Illinois and California. His public service work includes running the presiding over the Chicago Association of Realtor and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce. He was also appointed by Illinois Speaker of the House Michael Madigan to Illinois Election Day Registration Commission and later made chairman. 

Ascot ran unsuccessfully for congress in 2006, but lost in the primary to Davis. He promises to secure more federal stimulus funds for his district and to make a push for single payer health insurance option.
