Ill. Republican Seeks Endorsement from Palin's Hubby

"Anyone who has won the Iron Dog Snowmobile Race four times is someone I definitely want on my side in 2010"

An obscure political hopeful from Illinois wants a Palin endorsement to help his campaign -- from Todd Palin, that is.

"Anyone who has won the Iron Dog Snowmobile Race four times is someone I definitely want on my side in 2010," William "Bill" Kelly host of "Sportsaholic" on Comcast Sportsnet, said.

Kelly, who is running for Illinois comptroller, may be a longshot for the job, but he knows how to create headlines. The latest comes from the Sun-Times' Michael Sneed.

The latest Palin endorsment-for-an-Illinois Republican comes days after North Shore congressman Mark Kirk revealed he was seeking Sarah Palin's endorsement in the race for Barack Obama's former U.S. Senate seat.

Mrs. Palin's decision to endorse New York's Doug Hoffman, a conservative candidate, reportedly helped force state Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava (R) from the 23rd District race, according to The Washington Post.

It's unclear what effect Mr. Palin will have on the election, but one thing's for sure -- now you've heard of Bill Kelly.
