Candidates for Gov. to Choose Running Mates

Dan Rutherford has taken to Twitter to leave clues and it appears Steve Kim is his running mate.

They're calling it the Scott Lee Cohen rule -- those running for governor in Illinois no longer want to be surprised who they're paired with, so they must pick their running mate.

And with nominating petitions about to be passed out, the choices are being made.

Dan Rutherford has taken to Twitter to leave clues and it appears Steve Kim is his running mate. Kim once ran for Attorney General.

Rutherford said he will officially announce Kim as his lieutenant governor on Thursday.

State Sen. Kirk Dillard on Tuesday will announce his choice, and multiple GOP sources said he's selected State Rep. Jill Tracy from Quincy.
