Woman Used Honey to Swallow 54 Cocaine Pellets: Feds

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that Walker told federal agents she learned about using honey to make the pellets go down easy from the Netflix TV show "The Mule."

Federal court records in Florida show a woman used honey to help her swallow 54 pellets containing cocaine in a trick she learned from a television show.

On Monday 29-year-old Regis Walker of Pembroke Pines pleaded guilty to smuggling cocaine into the U.S. She faces a maximum 20 years in prison but will likely get less.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that Walker told federal agents she learned about using honey to make the pellets go down easy from the Netflix TV show "The Mule." The drugs were detected by an X-ray after Walker's May flight from Jamaica arrived in Fort Lauderdale.

Walker spent five days in a hospital to pass the pellets, which contained a little more than 12 ounces of cocaine.
