A Southern California man went looking for sharks on Wednesday and found himself being watched instead.

Mike Durand strapped on his GoPro helmut camera and took to his paddle board for a trip into the waters of Manhattan Beach, Calif. One 8-foot-long great white shark swam especially close, went under his board and left Durand "shaking like a leaf."

The nail-biting encounter was all caught on camera and posted to YouTube.
