A cyclist was hit by a police cruiser in Central Park Tuesday evening, according to the NYPD.
The cyclist was in the park near 81st Street and Fifth Avenue when he was hit by the cruiser, the NYPD says. The circumstances of the crash weren't clear.
After the crash, several people in the park rushed to help the cyclist, who was taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The cyclist had minor injuries, police say.
A witness at the scene said she heard the police car's sirens shortly before the crash.
