Child Drowns Sister in Tub While Mother Entertains ‘Booty Call': Sheriff's Department

A North Texas mother is facing felony abandonment charges after her 2-year-old daughter drowned in a tub last month after being pushed underwater by her sister. The mother, according to investigators, was having sex in her bedroom at the time.

According to an affidavit released by the Wise County Sheriff's Department,  26-year-old Amanda Ann Clark left her three daughters alone in a bathtub Oct. 23 after a man arrived at the woman's home for a "booty call."

After about five minutes alone, the woman's 6-year-old daughter, Angelina, entered the room and told her mother that her 2-year-old sister Alexandria wasn't breathing.

EMS arrived at the home, performed CPR and transferred the child to Wise Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

In an interview with police, Clark said she'd drawn the bath for her daughters and left them alone while she went to her bedroom with 44-year-old Jeff Stephenson.

Stephenson told police he'd arrived at the house for a "booty call" and that he heard Clark gather the girls from the living room before she joined him in the bedroom. He said they were having sex when the woman's daughter entered the room.

Clark's 6-year-old daughter Angelina told police she was in the tub with Alexandria and their 3-year-old sister Gabriella and that Gabriella pushed Alexandria under the water and held her. Angelina told police after her sister went limp she picked her up and got out of the tub before entering her mother's bedroom.

Investigators said Clark is being charged with abandoning or endangering a child, a second-degree felony.

Further information about this investigation has not been released.
