FBI: Angry Mother Ripped Boy's Genitals, Tried to Repair Them With Glue

A South Texas woman has been accused of ripping her 6-year-old son's genitals during a rage and trying to repair the wound with glue.

An FBI complaint charges 34-year-old Jennifer Marie Vargas, of San Antonio, with assault within maritime and territorial jurisdiction resulting in serious bodily injury, according to the San Antonio Express-News .

Vargas,  who was arrested Wednesday, remains in custody pending a bail hearing Monday in federal court in San Antonio.

The boy's father is in the Army. The incident happened Sept. 27 at the family's home at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston.

Prosecutors say the father returned home from work, found his injured son and took him to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, the Express-News reported. The boy, who's recovering from a 4-inch laceration to his scrotum and bruising, remains with his father.

The Express-News, quoting an affidavit, said Vargas admitted she was angry when she grabbed the boy by the scrotum and pull him as hard as she could, "thereby ripping his 'sack' and causing a laceration."

She told investigators she then tried to repair the laceration with alcohol and superglue, the paper reported.

Officials with Child Protective Services told the paper they had no history with the family.
